...in 1999.... my start

The first time I got a model was in 1999. At the time, I owned a 1995 Honda civic hatchback DX. When I started to talk to Mege-san about the car scene, I saw that Tamiya had an red civic hatchback!

He got me that model and sent it to me.

This was my first attempt with a model and I tried to replicate it to me like my actual car (sans the intercooler).

My EG at the time:

After that I dabbed in scale modeling bit by bit. I would go through waves of interests, then back off throughout the years.

The height of my interests and getting models completed was in 2004. I had visited Japan 4 times and each time, I would bring back a few models. When I was in Japan, scale models could be found in many places and of course, it was Tamiya, Fujimi and Aoshima that was my aim. The price was usually $15 to $20.

Additionally, I was also in Gundam scale models at 1/144

When I stopped visiting Japan, I bought some models online, but I decided to put off the hobby because buying them from hobby stores was double or more. I couldn't justify it.

Additionally, I had moved from Seattle (which I had space) and moved to San Francisco, California, where I had no space and was starting over (less paying job, focusing on school and barely getting by). Some of them sat as I didn't have time or space for them.

Sporadically, I would get a model and build it. These were the last few of my model building (2007) before I would again, not invest time into them.

Now, I never was an expert builder. I often sprayed the cars from the can. Some of the cars came in a really nice finish that I didn't want to mess it up.

I still have all these models, but they are in storage containers.. all jumbled up! Which means at some point, I will have to go through them again and fix/improve them.

Diecast Japanese vans!

I have always liked vans. Currently own a 95 Toyota Previa LE SC and 14 Toyota Sienna SE So naturally, I would want to get diecast vans. Unfortunately, Matchbox and Hot Wheels haven't really made many vans. Hot Wheels did release a Honda Odyssey and the RR Honda Odyssey based of the Bisimoto 1000hp van. It wasn't until 2016, when I was in Japan, I picked up a few vans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USlo7dvGxbk I decided I need to get some of the older vans, so my brother Noguchi-san helped me find some and sent them to me! Rant: Not finding the cars I want

One of the biggest issues for me is that I often NEVER see some of the cars I want local to me. When the Japanese Historic collection came out, I was NEVER able to find them locally. When the Transports series with the Japanese cars came out, I was never able to find them locally. Cars and doughnuts? Fast and the Furious? I don't know what it is, but I never see them around my area. It truly sucks!!! /Rant

Machine RS 2 and 3

In this Skyline bundle, I didn't expect to have extra chassis. But there were a couple boxes with 2 chassis. Most of the parts were in the sandwich bags. But the RS 2 was missing a set of wheels. I went through the bags to make sure that the everything is there and it seems like it. I've started on the RS-3, but the detail is pretty intense. The body is red and I need to paint the lower half black. I was hoping to get these done first, but I need to get a some different colors. The RS 2 is already painted, but gotta paint the bottom also. I have some extra wheels from the Grand Champion model, so I could use it but it is without tires.
